Free Trade School Marketing Plan

Consistently Fill Your Classes To Full Capacity On A Limited Budget

3 Essential Components To An Effective Marketing Plan For Trade Schools

Career Schools face unique challenges

Filling classes and staying profitable on a consistent basis is difficult for most schools. We have seen this marketing plan transform struggling trade schools into programs that are consistently profitable.

This comprehensive plan is the result of extensive testing

We leveraged modern technology and intelligent learning platforms to help test the components of this marketing plan. This process enabled us to learn the most effective ways to maximize enrollment for trade schools.

Before we learned the three essential components of this plan, we made the same mistakes most schools are still making today. We learned the hard way that marketing strategies used in other industries are not effective at maximizing enrollment in schools because most career schools face two main challenges.

Maximize enrollment and profit on a limited budget

2 Challenges All Trade Schools Face

  1. Most career schools operate on a small marketing budget. They enroll just enough students to barely stay profitable because they lack an effective marketing plan. If those same schools had an effective marketing plan they could maximize profit without increasing their budget.
  2. Most marketing agencies don’t understand the unique needs of a trade school and try to use the same marketing strategies they use with other types of businesses. Career schools end up wasting a lot of money on ineffective websites and expensive ads that increase expenses but don’t fill classes to max capacity.

The Solution

Your school will become very profitable if you are able to consistently fill all the seats in your classes.
The Math Behind The Solution
The typical trade school has very few expenses per student (books, scrubs, consumable supplies, etc.).

However, it takes a handful of enrolled students to just cover the overhead costs of running a class (paying instructors, office rental, etc.)

Any additional students' tuition is just about pure profit.
The goal of this marketing plan is to help you make your school as profitable as possible by consistently filling your classes to full capacity.
First, you need to make sure you are not making the same mistakes that most struggling career schools are making.

4 Costly Mistakes Most Trade Schools Are Making

Mistake #1

Most struggling schools have websites that ask potential students to call the school.

The typical student lead is an 18 to 26 year old who doesn't want to talk with a stranger on the phone (and they don’t want to set up an appointment with a stranger either). They just don’t.

Mistake #2

A website that asks potential students to fill out a contact form on a website is a big mistake.

Potential students don’t want to fill out a generic contact form on your website.

Mistake #3

A pretty website will not increase enrollment. Even a plain website can increase enrollment as long as the website conversion system is effective.

We will elaborate on “website conversion” later in this guide. Successful schools have pretty websites and an optimized website conversion system.

Mistake #4

Spending money on Google Ads and Facebook Ads can be a massive waste of money, and this is exactly what we see a lot of schools doing.

We have tested dozens and dozens of ads, very few of them are cost effective. There are only about four Google Ads that are extremely effective for most schools. We will discuss a couple of secrets to help you make your ads more effective later in this guide.

We made these four mistakes initially too and we see schools making these mistakes all the time. It was very difficult for us to figure out how to engage 16 to 26 year old's without having a phone conversation, and without having them fill out a contact form on a website. The solution was very unexpected.

The Solution

Student Leads need to be “nurtured” throughout the entire time they are researching your school

Most potential students don’t make a final decision to join a program for at least a month after they start searching for schools. Most trade school websites and marketing systems get this wrong and end up with empty seats in their classes because of it.

There are three essential components of an effective career school marketing plan

This plan will help nurture your potential students effectively so your school will be chosen by the potential student when it’s the right time for them to join a program. That's a mouthful, but it’s important to understand (you may want to read that again).

What School Owners Are Saying About Peak Enrollment

We doubled
our enrollment.

From our last session to when we started using Peak we doubled our enrollment. They turned our website into a converting website that generated more leads and the Peak Suite platform makes it seamless to communicate with my student leads. Peak has played a huge part in our success.

Peak Suite is a game changer!

The results were imediate and the customer service has been fantastic. They made changes and made it work for the way we run our school. Everything was great!

Madison - Admissions Assistant

Our student leads dramatically increased.

We’ve used several marketing companies but none of them were able to do what Peak has done. Peak has lived up to what they said they were going to do and their customer service has been supreme.

Dr. Gregg Testerman

There’s results. Where before, I had zero results.

Here's the key: so many quality leads have come in. So many quality conversations…the amount of leads we get is maybe five times the amount of our previous leads.

Konni Forster

Wish we had found Peak Enrollment sooner.

I was really surprised by the one-on-one contact from the entire team. They are a one-stop-shop, Peak Enrollment helped us with all aspects of our growth.
